Shilpa Reddy

Counselling Psychologist

Hi, I’m Shilpa. I am passionate about facilitating women and teenagers to empower themselves to be their most authentic and joyous selves. As a certified ACT (acceptance and commitment) therapist, I am committed to creating a safe space for my clients which opens up possibilities for a hopeful future.

I have enormous respect and compassion for people going through life’s challenges and transitions, and feel privileged to work with those who are seeking support. From a stance of radical acceptance, I meet my clients where they already are in their journey. By shining a light on their strengths and their innate knowledge, I work to nurture each client’s own unique skills and ability to bring the change they desire in their lives. I facilitate clients rediscovering their strengths, embracing their humanness, and finding their balance.

My life has taught me many lessons that I carry with me in my work as a counselor. From learning flexibility as a partner to my husband whose work requires us to relocate and restart our lives with each new posting; to experiencing and educating myself about each new culture we encounter with curiosity and sensitivity, I let these lessons reflect in my approach to working with the individuals who show up in my counseling space with courage and vulnerability. I recognize the importance of building a relationship with clients in order to establish realistic and attainable goals together.

Armed with intuition, experience and practical tools, my mission is to shine light on those parts of a woman’s persona that need support and compassion to truly come alive and grow into their best possible selves.

I am a certified counselor with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. My stance is a humanistic approach to counseling, having trained extensively in multiple modalities like Mindfulness, ACT and SFBT; all proven effective in helping alleviate mental health distresses and providing tools to excel in life.

I hold an integrative and holistic approach to counseling which is experiential, and person-centered to treat the whole person and ensure that what is done in therapy is personalized, collaborative, and unique to you as a client.

I wish to be known as the person who helped women nurture their own instincts, their intuitions and their skills, by holding space for them as they navigated the demands life and society’s expectations put upon them.

All while being a present mother to my two children and an equal partner in my marriage with my supportive, encouraging husband.

I have learnt that ambition is not a taboo word for a married woman with children. That our dreams, our self, our lives are all worthy of being nurtured. Let me help you nurture yours.
